Headed to the game, some factors remain constant; Sanjin Alagic is still the head coach at City Stars while Juma Abdalla is the man leading Western Stima.
Form-wise, City Stars sits ninth in the 17-team standings with 23 points from 18 rounds as Stima is ten points below at 15th spot.

Though there is a clear gap in between, City Stars must be wary of visiting Stima.
Statistically, City Stars has hosted the Westerners nine times before since the year 2008.
Of the nine games, City Stars has only managed one win; 1-0 back on 2 May 2010 at Hope Centre, thanks to a George Odari strike.
Four (4) of the other home games have ended in defeats for City Stars and the remaining four (4) in draws.
The nine games in Nairobi, played at either Nyayo Stadium (six games), City stadium (1) and Hope Centre (2), have been low scoring with Stima outscoring City Stars seven goals to four.
In the Tuesday game, City Stars, hosting Stima for the first time ever at Ruaraka, will be seeking to break over ten years of never beating Stima in Nairobi.
Simba wa Nairobi heads to the game with two straight wins over Sofapaka (3-0) and Kariobangi Sharks (2-1) as Western Stima comes to it from a 4-0 hiding by Kakamega Homeboyz, and a 1-1 home draw against Bandari in their last game.

The game comes almost two years since City Stars held Stima to a 1-1 draw at Camp Toyoyo in April 2018, when both sides were seeking promotion to the premier league while in the second tier.
