    New date, venue for Leopards’ fight

    AFC Leopards will now host Nairobi City Stars in FKF Premier League matchday 33 on Monday 6 June 2022 in Thika Stadium starting 3 pm.

    The game had initially been planned for Saturday 4 June in Nyayo Stadium but was later pegged back by a day to Sunday at the same venue.

    “Leopards informed us first of the shift from Saturday to Sunday in Nyayo, and later came back to inform us that due to lack of the original venue on Sunday, the game had to be moved to Thika on Monday,”

    “We have since taken note of the inevitable changes and informed our technical bench accordingly.” said club CEO Patrick Korir

    Simba wa Nairobi last played in Thika in early March 2022 while hosting Posta Rangers.

    City Stars to host Gor a day later in Kasarani

    Nairobi City Stars will host multiple league champions Gor Mahia in Kasarani on Sun 29 May 2022 starting at 3 pm, a day later than had been scheduled.

    The game was previously planned for Saturday 28 May 2022 at the same time and had been planned for the Narok Stadium.

    “We have had to re-consider hosting the game in Nairobi after Narok County informed us our prior booking had been cancelled for a political function at the Narok Stadium on Saturday,”

    “But we can now confirm the game will be played a day later, on Sunday 29 May 2022, at Kasarani (Main) Stadium as the venue is not available on Saturday.” said club CEO Patrick Korir

    It will be the first time that City Stars will play a premier league game at the Kasarani Main Stadium after a  2,038 day hiatus, since 30 October 2016 when the team fell 3-1 to Kakamega Homeboyz, and ultimately got relegated from the topflight after 12 straight seasons.

    New date, venue for Wazito clash

    Nairobi City Stars’ next FKF Premier League game against Wazito FC will be played on Monday 9 May 2022 in Nyayo Stadium starting 3 pm.

    The game was initially planned for Sunday 8 May 2022 in Kasarani, at the same kick-off time, but the unavailability of the venue, as confirmed by home team Wazito FC,  necessitated the changes.

    “Our host Wazito has written to us confirming the change in kick-off day from Kasarani on Sunday to Nyayo Stadium on Monday,”

    “We have taken note of the changes and will adjust our schedule accordingly.” said club CEO Patrick Korir

    Considering the shift in dates, the Wazito – Nairobi City Stars clash will be the last round 29 tie in the 2021-22 FKF Premier League schedule as all other ties will be played between Friday 6 and Sunday 8 May.

    Ulinzi clash shifts to Ruaraka from Langata

    Ulinzi Stars will host Nairobi City Stars in Ruaraka on Monday 18 April 2022 in FKF Premier League matchday 26 and not at the newly opened Ulinzi Sports Complex in Langata as earlier scheduled.

    The game was originally planned for Kericho Green Stadium on Saturday 16 April, but was dated fresh and moved to the new facility in Nairobi before the switch back to Rruaraka.

    “Ulinzi Stars informed us of the unavailability of the Ulinzi Sports Complex in Langata which then informed the return to Ruaraka. We are aligned with the changes.” said CEO Patrick Korir

    Ulinzi Stars were guests to City Stars last weekend in Ruaraka during a rescheduled game. Either side kept a clean sheet to share the spoils.

  • Timothy Ouma extends City Stars stay

    Timothy Ouma extends City Stars stay

    Attacking midfielder Timothy Noor Ouma aka Babu has extended his Nairobi City Stars stay by another two years following talks with the club management.

    The extensions will see Babu remain in Simba wa Nairobi books till June 2025.

    The youngster joined City Stars from July 2020 on an initial three-year deal till the end of June 2023.

    “We have had successful talks and are glad that Timothy has agreed to stay on for a further two years till mid-2025,”

    “He signed an initial three-year deal last year and had a stellar first season in the premier league featuring in 24 of 33 games. He is maturing well and finding a place in the main team,”

    “With an improved and extended contract, Ouma can now settle and focus better on his game.” said club CEO Patrick Korir

    Ouma is a former Laiser Hill star and the 2020 Chapa Dimba Rift Valley MVP.
