    Head coach Sanjin Alagic has tweaked his squad ahead of a National Super League (NSL) round 21 clash against Vihiga Bullets at Camp Toyoyo, Jericho on Saturday 18 January 2020 starting 3pm.

    From the squad that traveled to Kisii for a duel against Shabana last Saturday, Sanjin has effected on forced change, and tactically made two other switches.

    Charles Otieno aka Chale (pictured) reclaims his place as holding midfielder pushing make shift no. 6 from the last game Anthony Kimani to move further up field. He was second half for Oliver Maloba last weekend.

    Chale takes up the place of Elvis Ojiambo Noor who is suspended for the Bullets game following accumulation of five yellow cards.

    New signing Azizi Okaka claims a place in the starting cast pushing youngster Vincent Otieno down to the bench. He made his debut for the club last weekend as a second half substitute.

    There are changes too on the bench as new signing keeper Jacob Osano from Nairobi Stima takes the place of Ronny Kagunzi.

    Returning striker Ezekiel Odera will study the game plan from the bench and will be joined by left back Wesley Onguso who missed the Kisii trip.

  • New arrivals excite Coach Sanjin

    New arrivals excite Coach Sanjin

    After drawing in four dependable players to his camp, Nairobi City Stars head Coach Sanjin Alagic is purring as the second leg of the National Super League (NSL) wears on.

    In under two weeks of the 2020 transfer window, Simba wa Nairobi roped in midfielder Peter Pinchez Opiyo, utility forward Azizi Odenyi Okaka, keeper Jacob Osano and striker Ezekiel Omulo Odera who is making a return for a second stint at the club.

    The arrivals upscales competitiveness in Sanjin’s troop pool for the second leg of the league that kicked off last weekend. And it excites him;

    “Am delighted to get two really quality experienced players like Odera and Osano in our squad. They will bring new dimension to our team together with Pinchez and Okaka,”

    “Definitely we make good scouting in the last few months and did a good job with the signings,”

    “We will be stronger for the second part of the season which is always more difficult.” he added

    Of the four, Okaka made his debut for the club last Saturday as a second half substitute in a 1-0 win over Shabana in Gusii.

    Pinchez is awaiting an ITC from the Turkmen Federation to get the all clear to debut in the NSL while Osano and Odera are in line for action during a Vihiga Bullets clash on Saturday 18 January 2020 at Camp Toyoyo, Jericho.

  • Odera returns

    Odera returns

    Former KCB, Gor Mahia, Thika United, Ushuru (KRA), Sofapaka and AFC Leopards sharpshooter Ezekiel Omulo Odera has recoiled back to National Super League (NSL) side Nairobi City Stars on a two-and-a-half year deal.

    This comes after his year-long loan deal with KCB, that coincided with the last mile of his contract with AFC Leopards, lapsed at the close of year 2019.

    Odera was at City Stars in 2016 and 2017 leading the team with crucial goals to seventh- placed finishes on both occasions.

    He was snapped up by Leopards for the 2018 season where he lasted a year before rejoining the bankers, for a fourth stint, for 2019.

    He becomes the fourth signing in the 2020 January transfer window after midfielder Peter Opiyo, utility forward Azizi Okaka and keeper Jacob Osano.

    In on-boarding Odera head coach Sanjn Alagic adds to his pot of out-and-out strikers that includes Gambian Ebrima Sanneh, teenager Vincent Jamaica Otieno and bullish Davis Amuyunzu Agesa.

    Odera dropped his aim after making a return to a team he finds has since been renamed to Simba wa Nairobi;

    “The team is focused with a good coach and I am glad they have given me another chance to work with them,”

    “My aim is to help the team ascend to the Kenyan Premier League and this I’d say will be a great achievement.”

    Odera joined the team upon resumption of training on 4 January and is in line for his first game in two years when Simba wa Nairobi hosts Vihiga Bullets at Camp Toyoyo, Jericho on Saturday 18 January 2020 starting 3pm.

  • Keeper Osano joins the party

    Keeper Osano joins the party

    Goal keeper Jacob Osano became Nairobi City Stars third signing after Peter Opiyo and Azizi Okaka in the 2020 January transfer window after putting pen to paper on two-and-a-half year deal.

    Osano, a former Black Mambo, Wazito, KCB keeper, was roped in after two years of service to Nairobi Stima.

    He takes up the slot vacated by budding Vincent ‘DC’ Khatili who was recently snapped up by Kibera BlackStars. He joins a department that has Levis Opiyo Omondi and Ronny Kagunzi.

    Upon joining the ranks of Simba wa Nairobi the soft spoken shot stopper said; “Am super happy to join this team with good vision.”

    Interestingly, Osano will be trained by his elder sibling Zachary Onyango, a former Kenyan international and player at Sony Sugar, Sofapaka, Ethiopia Coffee and Gor Mahia, among other clubs in the region.
