For a second straight weekend, Nairobi City Stars goalkeeper Edwin Mukolwe was named to the Kenyan Premier League team of the week, this time after after matchday 27 against FC Talanta that was played in Machakos on Saturday 20 April 2024.

In that game, City Stars replicated a 3-0 win just as was the case in the first leg.
Mukolwe is joined in the team of the week by forward Dennis Oalo who returns to the best eleven for the first time since matchday seven against Shabana in Homabay in October 2023.
Also in, for the first time this season, was defensive midfielder Elvis Noor Ojiambo who, for the first time in four premier league seasons, scored his maiden top flight goal, the second on the day. He also had a progreesive pass that led to the first goal.
In that game, Mukolwe had two massive penalty saves, the first in the 58th from Alex Juma at a time Simba wa Nairobi led 2-0. His second save was a Michael Jairo take in the 86th minute when City Stars was 3-0. Those saves eared Mukolwe man of the match accolades.

Oalo also produced a man of the match accolade in the game by scoring the first goal on 37 minutes off a Samuel Kapen assist, before providing the assist for the second goal on 45 minutes, then earning a penalty that led to the third – scored by Mohammed Bajaber in the 72nd minute.
The FC Talanta win at the weekend sent City Stars to the 45 point mark, in fifth place.
