Nairobi City Stars took down Equity Bank FC 2-0 in a National Super League (NSL) matchday 13 tie played at GEMS Cambridge on Friday 12 December 2025.
Goals on either half by Alvine Angira Mukudi – his maiden NSL goal – and Joshua Amunike – his sixth of the season, via the penalty spot – dealt Equity Bank the loss. James Kibande provided both assists.
Alvine, a left back but deplyed up a field as a winger, opened the scores in the 17th minute after meeting a Kibande cross from the right with a low drive to the far post.
Amunike doubled matters ten minutes after the restart when he controlled a Kibande pass well and won a penalty that he stepped up to bury home.
With the latest win, Simba wa Nairobi improved its points haul to 18 to move up to tenth spot in the 20-team log and within a point of seventh placed Equity Bank FC.
Next up for City Stars is a road trip to Kisumu to face Vihiga United in matchday 14 at the Moi Stadium on Wednesday 17 December 2025 starting at 3pm.
