Nairobi City Stars picked up a point on the road after posting a 2-2 draw against Gucha Stars during a National Super League (NSL) matchday 16 tie at the Gusii Stadium on Saturday 10 January 2025.
Suleiman Ali Konzi aka Babash scored his maiden goal a minute to the hour mark after geting to the end of a Vincent Odongo split pass. Joshua Amunike doubled matters – with his seventh goal this season – with five minutes left on the clock.
The home team then rallied in added time after converting a penalty and adding a second goal minutes later to force a share of the spoils.
With the draw in the year-opener, Simba wa Nairobi holds on to eight spot with an improved 23 points from 16 games.
Next up is a home game against Kisumu AllStars on Sunday 18 January at the GEMS Cambridge grounds starting at 3 pm.
