Stopper Tedian Esilaba Atuto as well as wingers David Gateri and Nahashon Thiong’o have all been cleared by Nairobi City Stars to join other clubs in the current transfer window that opened on 25th January 2021.
Thiong’o has now been cleared to join National Super League (NSL) Mwatate United where he will link up with two former City Stars players Cornelius Mwangi and striker Stephen Citi Mwangi. All left the club in December 2019.
Gateri has moved to Bidco United as Esilaba, who joined Simba wa Nairobi on a short term deal in January 2020 from Fortune Sacco, is headed to AFC Leopards.
During the pre 2020/21 season window, some of the players that switched clubs at the expiry of their contracts included Kevin Chumsy Okumu (Wazito), Levis Lovae Opiyo (Gor Mahia) and Eric Cantona Ochieng (Mt. Kenya United).
Peter Mwangi Wine Wainaina (Kangemi United) who exited the club in December 2019 as well as Stephen Mweni (Mwatate United), also made moves in that window.
