Nairobi City Stars coach John Amboko has come through a four-month coaching course, overseen by Football Federation of Kenya (FKF) instructors, as sanctioned by CAF, to graduate with a ‘B’ license Diploma.
Amboko, at Nairobi City Stars since 2002 to 2017 as a player – save for 2013 when did a season at AFC Leopards-, is one of 25 coaches who received the certificate following the completion of classes that kicked off in mid-September this year in Kasarani.
“I wish to sincerely thank the entire City Stars management for enabling me to attend, complete, and graduate from the just concluded CAF ‘B’ course,” said Amboko
Amboko has steadily been piling up his coaching badges and the latest CAF ‘B’ license is an upscale of his CAF ‘C’ one acquired – alongside Tiellen Oguta – back in October 2019.
“We are elated at his coaching progression. Amboko is a club legend having started his career as a player way back in 2002 before venturing into coaching in 2017. We are proud of his latest achievement and as a team we are very happy to see him grow.” said club CEO
Amboko becomes the third City Stars coach to complete a coaching course this year.
In mid-October, assistant coach Noah Abich and a keeper trainer Zachary Onyango completed a one-month CAF ‘C’ Diploma license course in Kisumu.
