Nairobi City Stars were awarded a 2-0 win over Vihiga United on Wednesday, 17 December 2025, after the home side failed to show up for their National Super League (NSL) Matchday 14 fixture at Moi Stadium, Kisumu.

The match had initially been scheduled to take place at the Jomo Kenyatta Stadium, Kisumu, with a 3:00 pm kickoff. However, the venue became unavailable due to a private function, prompting a same-day change of venue to Moi Stadium, Kisumu, and an earlier kickoff time of 1:30 pm. The adjustment forced a double-header at the venue pushing an originally scheduled MOFA-Kisumu All Stars NSL tie kick off half an hour late, from 3pm to 3.30pm.

Despite the changes, Vihiga United did not arrive for the fixture and after waiting for more than 40 minutes beyond the scheduled kickoff, match officials awarded the game to Nairobi City Stars in accordance with competition regulations.

The awarded victory sees Simba wa Nairobi move to 21 points after 14 matches, placing them within the top ten of the 20-team NSL standings.

Vihiga United and City Stars last met on Wednesday, 21 July 2021, during the 2020/21 FKF Premier League season, with their Matchday 27 encounter at the ASK Showground in Nakuru ending in a goalless draw.

Nairobi City Stars will now turn their attention to their final fixture of the year, a home clash against Soy United scheduled for Sunday, 21 December 2025, at GEMS Cambridge, Karen, with kickoff set for 3:00 pm.
