    Friendly Fire: Nairobi City Stars 2 K-Sports FC 1

    Simba wa Nairobi once again overcame a tough K-Sports team, this time 2-1, in a friendly game played at Ligi Ndogo grounds on Thursday 17 February 2022.

    New recruit Augustine Kuta opened the scoring in the 5th minute before Michael Madoya doubled matters seven minutes after the restart.

    K-Sports, fielding a strong squad full of Premier League experience, halved the deficit 12 minutes to time through Robert Mutua.

    The latest friendly was lined up to prepare City Stars for its next league assignment against Mathare United on Saturday 26 February 2022.

    New signing Augustine Kuta is aiming high after arriving at Nairobi City Stars in the mid transfer window.

    The midfielder joined Simba wa Nairobi from Kibera Black Stars for the remainder of the current 2021/22 FKF Premier League season in early February 2022.

    Kuta is appreciative of the fact that his career was as good as gone after suffering a knee injury while at Western Stima in 2020, his only other workstation in the Premier League.

    “I join the club with high hopes of winning my first silverware in top-flight football,”

    “My greatest achievement will be being able to recover from a knee injury surgery and getting a second chance to play top-flight again,”

    “I am happy to be here. I will give it my all to help the team.” added Kuta

    Kuta adds competitiveness to the squad as he adds options to creative, attacking, and offensive positions.

    Midfielder Augustine Kuta is the latest inclusion to the Simba wa Nairobi family.

    Kuta, the second and final addition in the mid transfer window, arrives from Kibera Black Stars on a short-term deal to the end of the season.

    Kuta has been handed a warm welcome by team coordinator Samson Otieno who said;

    “We took note of Kuta during preseason friendly games against Nation FC and KEFWA. But with a full squad, and in a bid to keep him close, the best we could do was recommend him to join Kibera BlackStars with whom we share a training ground,”

    “His chance to join us is here and we welcome him to Simba wa Nairobi.” added Samson

    Head coach Nicholas Muyoti added his voice to Kuta’s arrival;

    “We have been tracking him in the last few months and have no doubt he will bring the much-needed punch as we head into the tougher and last half of the season.”

    On his part, Kuta, a Business Management (Finance and Accounting) graduate from Moi University, said;

    “It’s a great honor to join Nairobi City Stars. I have always rated the club highly and can’t wait to get down to work with my new teammates.”

    Kuta, whose last premier league workstation was at Western Stima back in the year 2020, bid Kibera BlackStars goodbye on Saturday during a league game against Silibwet Leons.

    He will don jersey no. 29 which was recently vacated by striker Ebrima Sanneh.
