Nairobi City Stars will not be travelling to Homabay County to face MOFA FC at the Homa Bay Stadium for the 2026/27 National Super League (NSL) opener on Sunday 29 October 2026, starting at 1pm, after the entire league was postponed by Football Kenya Federation (FKF) on Friday 23 Oct.

According to the Federation, the High Court in Machakos issued orders halting the commencement of the new season following a case filed by a club against the Federation. As City Stars understands, the case is set for hearing on 17 November.

With the league on hold, the club will continue to train awaiting further communication regarding the resumption of league from the Federation.
